Athens, GA. — Feb. 18, 2021 — Today, Zaxby’s announced the renewal of its agreement with Misfits Gaming Group’s Florida Mayhem and has added a partnership with the Florida Mutineers. The new extended partnership means Zaxby’s is doubling down on its commitment to esports, connecting further with the gaming community. The brand will be expanding into the Call of Duty space, one of the largest esports titles in the world.

In 2020, the Florida Mayhem launched a comprehensive partnership with Zaxby’s that included the “Match Time Meal” activation as well as online tailgating parties and custom content for players. With more than 900 total locations and nearly 100 restaurants in Florida, Zaxbys’ chain of premium quick service restaurants is best known for its chicken wings, chicken fingers and signature sauces.

“The Florida Mayhem and Florida Mutineers are, no doubt, the best in their class, and we’re looking forward to expanding our partnership with one of the best organizations in the game,” said Joel Bulger, Zaxby’s CMO. “As the esports and gaming industry continues to flourish, we’re pleased to be able to connect Zaxby’s to this highly engaged audience.”

With the expansion of its collaboration with Misfits Gaming Group, Zaxby’s is more deeply embedded in the gaming community. The enhanced agreement gives Zaxby’s a sleeve patch of Florida Mutineers game jerseys for the upcoming Call of Duty League 2021 season, as well as a new sleeve patch for the Florida Mayhem, soon to be heading into the 2021 season for the Overwatch League. Zaxby’s will continue its “Match Time Meal” activation with both teams, with additional support via the Zaxby’s mobile app available for download on Google Play and the App Store.

“Zaxby’s has been a tremendous partner and we’re looking forward to continuing to grow alongside the brand in the year ahead,” said Justin Stefanovic, VP of partnerships for Misfits Gaming Group. “They have a tremendous passion for esports and gaming, and we’re very excited to strengthen the bond between gamers and Zaxby’s delicious chicken.”
