May 19 COVID-19 Update: Some Dining Rooms Reopening for Dine-In and/or Take-Out

At Zaxby’s, we’re grateful to continue serving you comfort food without disruption via drive-thru and the order ahead app, as well as delivery and curbside pick-up where available. Even as some states have begun to ease restrictions, we’re taking additional time to carefully evaluate and develop procedures to safely reopen our dining rooms. As each Zaxby’s is locally owned and operated, the decision to reopen dining rooms will be made by our licensees in the best interest of the communities they serve. Some may choose to allow dine-in, while others are opening for take-out only.

When reopening dining rooms, restaurants will adhere to Zaxby’s health and safety guidelines as well as local, state and federal requirements.

Here’s what you can expect when you visit a Zaxby’s dining room:

  • Hand sanitation stations in the dining room
  • Meals served exclusively in to-go packaging
  • Floor markings to ensure social distancing
  • Tables configured at least six feet a part
  • Cashiers assisting with condiments, beverages (including refills), utensils and napkins as the condiment station will be closed
  • Hyper-vigilant employee hygiene best practices including handwashing
  • Continuous restaurant cleaning with a dedicated Zaxby’s team member consistently sanitizing the dining room, restrooms and high-touch areas throughout the day

April 24 COVID-19 Update: Our Drive-Thrus Remain Open While Dining Rooms Remain Closed


Here at Zaxby’s, we hope you are staying safe, healthy and mindful to exercise COVID-19 precautions. Although some states are beginning to relax restrictions on restaurant dine-in service, we feel it’s best for us to take additional time to prepare our operations to assure the health and safety of our licensees’ employees and Zaxby’s guests.

For now, we do not have plans to open Zaxby’s restaurants for dine-in service. Zaxbys will continue to serve customers by drive-thru services and Zaxby’s order ahead app, as well as through delivery and curbside service where available. Regardless of how guests are served, we remain committed to the development and use of appropriate Health and Safety Measures in all our restaurants. We appreciate your patience and support. April 10 COVID-19 Update: Staying Together At Home

As most of the country continues to shelter in place, we hope you are staying safe, healthy and maintaining peace of mind as best as you can. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve our communities through order ahead, drive-thru and delivery (where available) while adhering to our stringent Health and Safety Measures 

To those staying home with loved ones, we hope you’re spending time together—not just in the same space—but connecting. We hope you’re sharing your worries, your jokes, your stories, your love, your time and attention. Sometimes those can be just as necessary as water, air and food.

This week we introduced our Zax Family Packs  designed to affordably feed a family of four. When Zaxby's food is placed on your table, we hope it will encourage the people in your home to gather together.

It's been incredible to see the love and support shared among families pour out into our communities. Food donations, letters of gratitude and emotional support have become a part of daily life at many of our locally owned and operated Zaxby’s restaurants, and we are so grateful for their commitment to finding ways to serve. March 25 COVID-19 Update: More Ways to Get Your Zaxby's While Distancing

As the need for social distancing to help flatten the curve continues, we are evolving our operations to enable us to best serve our communities.

It is our intention to continue serving fresh, hot meals to our neighbors at home and those bravely working in essential roles for as long as we’re able to do so safely. At the moment guests can order ahead via our app and/or pickup in our drive-thru at all locations.

At the same time, many of our locations are now offering curbside pick-up and delivery through local third-party apps.

The best way to find out which options are available near you is to call your local Zaxby’s.

Additionally, the increased Health and Safety Measures we announced on March 13 remain in place and we are continuing to comply with recommendations from the CDC as well as all local regulations.

During these unprecedented times, please know we are doing all we can to safely and efficiently serve our communities.

March 16 COVID-19 Update: Drive Thru Only

First and foremost, Zaxby’s cares for the well-being of its guests and families at all times, including during this challenging period in our nation’s history. Globally, Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been categorized as a significant risk to the general public.  In light of the emerging situation, Zaxby’s is and will remain committed, as you are, to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Effective Tuesday, 03/17/2020, service will be limited to the drive-thru only. We encourage every guest to practice social distancing and minimize in person contact by using online ordering, the Zaxby’s mobile app, and contactless payment methods.

All Zaxby’s team members will continue to take additional steps to clean and thoroughly sanitize the restaurants to safeguard the health and safety of our guests using the drive-thru.  This includes our standard practice of strict cleaning and hygiene-related protocols, disinfecting work areas, equipment and apparel, and not working while sick.

Our decision to take the above actions is for the health and safety of our communities, where we live and serve. Taking advantage of online and mobile methods of communication and ordering, as well as drive-thru only operations, will allow us to continue to better serve our guests while responding to this emerging situation.

Our hope is that these temporary operational changes will give our guests the assurance that we are committed to protecting them, our team members and the general public.  With your support and understanding, we will overcome the present circumstances.

March 13 COVID-19 Update: We are Committed to Your Health and Safety

Zaxby’s friends & family,

Like all of you, we are following the Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates closely as they unfold. This virus has had a far-reaching impact, and our hearts go out to everyone who has been affected. As always, we remain committed to serving you - our guest - in this time of uncertainty.

Your safety and well-being are of the utmost importance to us. We are monitoring this situation closely and are implementing new procedures to eliminate unnecessary touchpoints in our stores. Therefore, for the immediate future, we are using single-use, disposable packaging for all orders both in the drive-thru and dining room, as our inventory allows.

In addition to this change, we are taking extra steps to ensure our restaurants are as clean and safe as possible when you visit by providing the following:

  • Hand sanitizing stations in the dining rooms
  • Increased frequency in cleaning and sanitizing procedures for high touch areas and items
  • Additional signage to remind team members and guests of the importance of handwashing
  • Single-use condiment packets
  • Reinforcement of team member education on CDC, WHO, and FDA guidelines
  • Strict guidance to employees regarding not working while sick

 

Our dedicated task force is working closely with public health officials to identify and implement additional preventative measures as the situation continues to evolve.  

We appreciate the community effort around social distancing to decrease the spread of this virus. As a reminder, you always have the option to order ahead via our app or website and pick up in the drive-thru at any of our restaurants.

Please know that Zaxby’s is continuing to monitor this situation closely, and will readily share updates and actions we are taking to combat this developing pandemic. We will do everything we can to continue serving our communities.
