The Produce and Perishable Food Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing and executing the sourcing strategy to maintain the highest quality products at the lowest cost in use; and will negotiate directly with growers/processers, developing pricing programs and supply plans to ensure product needs are met. This position works cross functionally with the Quality Assurance, Distribution & Logistics, and external departments to provide support and reporting, assist with food safety recalls and product withdrawals. The Produce and Perishable Food Purchasing Manager has a solid understanding of supply/demand fundamentals of the produce landscape and shifts in growing seasons; will identify opportunities to improve and optimize buying strategies; and provide regular updates and develop communication for licensees around market conditions and price changes.
